Polk Co. Fair

Thursday thru Sunday was the big Polk Co. Fair. Both kids had entries again this year. Our busy day there was Thursday. Both kids worked in the 4-H food stand in the morning pouring pop and handing out ice cream cones. Payton participated in the dog demo using someone else's dog because mom had the date wrong...oops. I worked the food stand for the Sportman's Club and snuck away now and again to have entries judged. Payton entered flowers and received blues on her wildflower bouquet and marigolds and reds on an astilbe and geranium. Joe was in Cloverbud's again this year and proudly accepted his colorful participation ribbon. He brought brownies he made, a photo he took and his dancing robot. I brought a few plants and got nothing! Neil met us for supper (as well as the Korhonen's) and we walked around taking in the exhibits. The kids got wrist bands for the rides and rode them till they were about to puke.
