Joe saw a fox in our yard today stalking the chickens. Well actually it was either a fox or a coyote, it was gray and in the shadows so he couldn't tell. My first plan was to put a chicken in a cage and wait for it to come and check it out and BAM! I'd shoot it. But then I was having feelings of guilt about killing it and fear that I'd get a bad shot and it wouldn't die and moved onto plan B. Live trap and a chicken drumstick is the new plan. I figure it already has a taste for chicken so a drummie should be the obvious choice. If I catch it we'll be taking a short car trip to a nature preserve in the area. "What if it has babies??" Mom says. Thanks, more added guilt. I figure this is still the less cruel approach and am sticking to it. Will be interesting to see what we catch...I have a feeling the first capture will be a black cat named Spooky.
~In other news today I was attacked by wasps and bitten on the chest. Got in the middle of a horse spat and my ankle was kicked/stepped on, not sure which it was exactly but it hurt. Neil hurt his back at work and is gimping around like an old fart. I keep reminding him he isn't a spring chicken anymore and has to actually pay attention when he lifts heavy crap. Needless to say there was no lack of excitement in the Larson household today.
~Gotta check these couple videos out on YouTube by Tim Hawkins. The first is A Homeschool Family. Kinda makes fun of both homeschoolers and the public who thinks we're freaks, its cute. The next is a spoof of Carrie Underwood's Jesus Take the Wheel called Cletus Take the Reel. I just about peed myself I laughed so hard.
~Here are a few pics I shot today.
