Week 2 Day 1
Decided we were ready to move on with the C25K app. Added 30 seconds on to both the jog and the walk. So 1:30 jog and 2 min walk. Joe started out strong but by the last jog he was tired. But he did it! Nice job. I ditched them and jogged another 1 1/2 miles. Good run.

10 minute mile!
Cue the Rocky music!! For the second time I set the stop watch and jogged a mile at a comfortable pace. I did it in 10 minutes baby! I can remember in highschool when I was much skinnier and in better shape, I could not do a 12 minute mile. I remember my legs feeling like lead. I am happy that as I enter my 40's (soon) I am in better shape than I was all those years ago. Just wish I was as skinny...sigh.
Also happy to report me and the kids finished week one of Couch25k. Joe said it was easier tonite than the first day. I think we are going to repeat the first week though before moving on to week 2. I want him to be more confident in his abilities and be a little less winded on the last few jogs before we move on. I believe we will be participating in a Halloween 5k, so we have plenty of time to train. So proud of them! Now I just wish we could get their dad on board :(

Monkey Boy
Yep, that's my boy! I decided to drag Joe with me climbing tonite in my quest to get the boy in shape and have him experience new things. He tried climbing while at 4-H camp and said it was o.k. but didn't really care to go again but he thought it was o.k. This disappointed me. I told him he could just watch and decide when we got there but I wouldn't force him. Although I really, really wanted to. We met my friend Doug there and his 2 girls. He took a look around and said it looked like what he expected. I asked what he wanted to do and he surprised me with saying he would try. Gasp...what? So we got him set up. The boy shocked me. After his orientation he was off and doing the auto belays, without me. He was a beast. The wall kicked his ass over and over and yet he didn't quit. I have never seen this side of him. It was freaking awesome!! This is what I have been waiting for. In the end I almost had to rip him off the wall to go home. Wish we could have stayed longer but it wasa long drive home. I was disappointed in that they reset the one wall that I was hoping to go and finally conquer. Oh well.

Hot Hot Hot!
Alright, today was a hot one. It hit 98 degrees in the city, not sure what it was here but it was toasty! Payton and I watered the garden and I threw a little mulch on the garden out front. Beyond that, spent most of the day indoors doing laundry and stuff. In the afternoon we had a power outage of sorts where we had about half the power, it didn't go completely out just mostly. Then it started pouring out while the sun was shining and while grilling our steak for supper it started completely on fire. I mean it engulfed the whole grill. I burnt hair off my arm. Went out wake boarding again with the boys. Phil came along tonight to spice things up a litte. Another beautiful night out at the lake. Probably my best wake boarding ever. Not that it was awesome, but it was for me :)
Drank some beers so I decided I better get some exercise in. Went for a run at 9:30. Used the 10k runner app even though I was not even remotely looking forward to the 35 min run. Yep, it kinda sucked ass but again I completed it! Went about 3.5 miles. It was still pretty darn hot out but way better than being in the sun. Fireworks, fireflys, lightening and coyotes, very memorable. I think I may sleep well tonight.
Today's run and other stuff

Neil and Payton expanded the goat's fence this morning, Joe mowed the lawn and I made 3 batches of strawberry freezer jam. The kids topped off the day with a swim in the pool, Neil loafed and I made it out wake boarding with da boys. Perfect night on the lake!

Today's Run
Today's run pretty much sucked. 30 min run. I did it, but I wanted to quit. It was about 9 a.m. and already pretty hot, should have gotten an earlier start. 3.29 miles, 41:39 minutes with warm up and cool down. Pasture and back 40 twice was pretty much the 30 minutes. Proud I didn't stop but I can't say there was much postitive thought going on. Cold shower afterwards, not sure I like a.m. runs, still tired, although it could have a lot to do with the heat too. Blah.
